What are you looking to improve?

Most engagements start with one of four priorities. Choose the one that sounds closest — we’ll align the rest of the conversation from there.

How we work

A four-step path from evaluation to optimization.

01Evaluation

Evaluation

We start by listening. A structured walkthrough of your environment, priorities, and pain points — followed by a clear written read of what’s working, what isn’t, and what to address first.

No assumptions, no upsell. You get a useful baseline either way.
02Design

Design

A proposed architecture that matches your business — not a generic template. Topology, segmentation, cloud connectivity, and access are laid out in plain English with a clear scope and budget.

You sign off on the plan before anything gets installed.
03Implementation

Implementation

Deployment is staged to minimize disruption. Hardware, cloud resources, and policy are configured and validated, with changes documented so your team always knows the state of the network.

Business keeps running. Cutovers happen on your schedule.
04Optimization

Optimization

A network isn’t done when it’s live. We measure, tune, and refine — reducing friction, automating repetitive tasks, and keeping capacity ahead of your growth.

Ongoing review keeps the system reliable as you scale.
Real-world scenarios

Designed for the places people actually do business.

These are the kinds of environments we spend the most time in. Each one has its own rhythm — and its own idea of what “working” means.

Scenario · 01

Coffee shop with guest Wi-Fi pressure

Problem
A packed café whose point-of-sale system and customer Wi-Fi competed for the same bandwidth — order tickets lagged during the morning rush.
Approach
Separate POS, staff, and guest networks with policy-based routing, and right-size the Wi-Fi for peak occupancy rather than square footage.
Result
Consistent order flow at rush hour, a clean guest experience, and clear visibility into what each network is actually doing.
Scenario · 02

Professional office moving to hybrid work

Problem
A small firm with people in the office some days, remote others — secure file access and video meetings were inconsistent depending on where staff were working.
Approach
Move core resources into a properly scoped cloud environment, with identity-based access and a tuned on-site network for reliable day-to-day use.
Result
The same experience at a desk or at home. Staff stopped working around the network and started just working.
Scenario · 03

Retail storefront with aging infrastructure

Problem
A retailer on an unlabeled patchwork of switches and access points — every outage felt like a scavenger hunt and vendor support was impossible to coordinate.
Approach
Replatform to a cohesive, documented setup. Standardize, label, and monitor everything, so the next issue is a ten-minute fix, not a half-day investigation.
Result
Dramatically shorter downtime, a lower monthly spend on emergency fixes, and a system the owner can explain to anyone.
Scenario · 04

Shared workspace with mixed tenants

Problem
A coworking space where several tenants shared one flat network — a single misconfigured device could slow the floor, and no tenant had privacy from the others.
Approach
Introduce per-tenant segmentation with clear policy at the edge, and give the operator a simple way to onboard and offboard members without touching hardware.
Result
Each tenant gets a private, reliable environment. The operator spends less time on support and more on running the business.
About

A quiet, careful partner for the network that runs your business.

Modular Networks helps small and growing businesses put their networks on stable ground — secure, predictable, and sized to where the business is actually going.

The work is grounded in real network engineering: cloud infrastructure, performance tuning, and practical automation. The delivery is intentionally plain — clear scopes, documented changes, and a preference for the simplest setup that will hold up over time.

Independent practice based in New York, working with clients across the U.S.

01

Engineering-led, not product-led

Decisions start with the problem and your environment — not a preferred vendor or a quota to hit.

02

Cloud-aware by default

Most modern work touches Azure, identity, or a mix of on-site and remote. Your network is designed with that reality in mind.

03

Automated where it matters

Repeatable tasks get scripted. You keep a system that’s easy to support — and easy to hand off when you grow.

04

Documented, end to end

You always know what’s in place and why. No black boxes, no tribal knowledge, no lock-in.

Public engineering

A preference for tools that solve the boring problems well.

A sampling of open work that informs how we build for clients — pragmatic, documented, and written to be handed off, not hidden.

Python CLI Networking

A modular, CLI-based calculator designed for network and IT work — subnetting, binary conversion, and everyday arithmetic, wrapped in clean object-oriented Python with input validation and a clear logic flow. Iterated in the open, with feature expansions and structured revisions.

Let’s design your solution.

A short, structured evaluation is the fastest way to tell whether we’re the right fit — and what the smartest next move is, either way.
